Lock of Love!

So I took Alisha over to the beauty school today to get her hair cut. She has always had long hair and I've been trying to get her to get it trimmed for a while. Then she decided several months ago that she wanted to cut it shorter and donate her hair. And today was the big day!

I think it is way cute.

Halloween

Well, I figured it's about time to post something since it has been 6 months since my last one.

We had a pretty good Halloween this year considering it was raining and cold so the kid's couldn't go trick-or-treating. We went to our Ward's Halloween carnival and had a good time. We did homemade costumes this year that turned out pretty cute so here are some pics.

Alisha as a Gothic vampire (she designed the costume herself)

Joe as Buzz Lightyear

Ben as Woody

these are some cakes that i made for the cake walk at the carnival.

Alisha's Baptism

Alisha's baptism was today and it was a really nice day. Hy (Nate's Dad) gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. The boys were very well behaved the whole time which made things a lot easier. We had so many friends and family come to support Alisha including Nate's parents who flew out from Virgina.

Alisha and Nate before the baptism. My mom made the dress and you can't see it very well in the picture but the bottom half of the dress has a layer of iridescent dots all over it...it is very cute. Thanks mom!

April Fools

Well, Mother Nature played a pretty good joke on Northern Utah today. We all woke up to find 6 inches of snow in the ground. I though it was suppose to be spring! Oh well, I really shouldn't be that surprised. It's just a typical spring in Utah...65 one day...snowing the next.

Blue and Gold Banquet cake

So I made the cake for our Ward's Blue and Gold Banquet, which was celebrating the scouts 100th birthday. Well, actually Nate volunteered me to make but the cake but I was excited to do it. It was a lot of fun making and it was definitely big (two 11x15 sheet cakes). It was a bit hit and the boys were fighting over who got to eat the trees :-)

close up of the trees and rocks. Nate made the rocks out of gum paste ansd they looked so real.

Birthday Fun

So we celebrated Nate's birthday along with the boy's on Saturday. Nate's brother Brad came up from Salt Lake and Nate's cousin Jeremy and his wife Apryl and their kids came up too.

The kids had a great time playing together.

The boy's cake...which was SO much fun to make.

The little monsters are 2

Today is Joe and Ben's Birthday. I can't believe they are 2 already. We are going to celebrate their birthday on Saturday along with Nate's (which is on the 31st). Happy Birthday boys...we made it through 2 years...now we will see if we can make it through the next 2.

Is is bad of me to be excited that they will sit for 15 to 20 minutes and watch a movie? At least Alisha is reading right?

This one is just funny. I found Joe like this the other day when i went in to get him out of bed.

Our new couch

This is the new couch we purchased last weekend. We bought it from a custom furniture place in Salt Lake and it was suppose to take 2 - 3 weeks to make. I got a call 5 days after we had ordered it and because we picked one of the few colors they had in stock they got ours made faster than expected. YAY! I am way excited. Nate and I celebrated by both taking a nap on it on Sunday...it was so nice for both of us to be able to nap on it at the same time and not kick each other. :-)
